217 wheelers

Anyone in the 217 area active on here? Mattoon round abouts myself. Looking for some local wheeling spots. Idc if its just a good long dirt road through the woods. I drive a Samurai, so even some good sxs trails would work for me!

618 then???

Ok, no one in the 217. How about the 618? Southern Illinois surely has some nice places. Anyone NOT from Illinois, realize that we have NO state OHV parks, and all of the private off road parks ive found are for dirtbikes and mudbogs. Both fun, but not my can of beer lol!

I'm in the Jacksonville area.

What sux for you is that most clubs in the area that either have trails or access to trails are for Jeeps. Nothing wrong with your Sami but its not a Jeep .

I know! The one active club i heard of folded up because so many of the guys thought meetings would be like poker runs...bar hopping on the highway ya know. Cool if thats your thing, but I guess alot of them didnt actually want to get that Rubicon on 20s dirty I hear tales of gnarly mud holes and full throttle hill climbs around here. But, my rig isnt fit for either. I just want a nice twisty trail with some technical parts to leisurely wheel with my wife and son...

Jacksonville

Thats not too far from here though. You guys have some decent trails. There? Im bout to just accept the fact that i need a pickup and a car trailer to get to good spots. ID drive my Sami to the Badlands, but my wife and son would bitch the whole way lol...

I am the Tech and Safety guy for Two Rivers Jeep Club, we have 2 open events that we let not Jeeps into, Illini 4x4 Safari in the spring and 4x4 Blast in the fall if your interested.

We have trails for any and all skill/build levels.

BTW I drive my Jeep a lot but I always trailer it to the parks and trails, I do stupid shit so there is a good chance I'll break it.

What are rules on jeep-ness? Jeep frame? Jeep tub? Jeep powertrain? Only bolt-ons allowed?

Titled as a Jeep and looks sorta mostly like a Jeep.
