Tried the E2000 pump. No workie

My intank pump for my 22re failed the last time I got back from the woods. I just want to drive it outa the snow to a shop to work on it. I tried splicing an E2000 inline pump in and got the truck to run 15 secs at a time. I also tried gravity feeding the E2000 pump from a jug to no avail. Ive read threads where guys are using them, so I figured Id try. What am I doing wrong? Itd be nice to move with it own power. Im gonna replace the tank and pump when I get it out of the snow.

Sounds like maybe you had the circuit opening relay die, not the pump.

So, what isn’t working? The pump isn’t running? You aren’t getting fuel out of it? You aren’t getting fuel to it? You aren’t getting fuel at the engine?

That you tried gravity feeding the pump sounds like you aren’t getting fuel to the pump?

I ran 12v to the pump from the battery. I also tried it from the relay. Its sending fuel up to the rail. I know because I cracked it open by the intake. The truck will only run for 15 secs and die like its outa fuel. Im leaning towards a partially clogged filter? Im not a big fan of the toyota filter or its location.

Definitely check the filter. I run an E2000 through OEM wiring and it runs like a champ.

The only time it didn't was: when I was out of fuel (no gauge at the time) and when the filter was thoroughly clogged.

Another thing to remember, a lot of E2000s are shit right out of the box. That why I have 2 spares in my rig.
