Hillman Husky (66 Bronco)

New to this thread stuff. I will give it my best shot. Also overseas so posting picts will be a long tedious event. This is my 1960 Hillman. It sits on a 66 Bronco chassis. Currently it runs a 250ci Ford six cyl, NP 435, and a Dana 20.

Well you dont see that everyday...

I admit I had to google WTF a Hillman Husky was. Found this cool statistic on Wikipedia

Quote:
The Motor magazine tested a Husky in 1954 and found it to have a top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h) and acceleration from 0-50 mph (80 km/h) in 24.3 seconds
I guess for its day thats really not that slow.

So what can pirate help you with? Tons? 4-D's? 408 Windsor stroker?

Wrong forum but , I like the Chevy, the big 4 door with the bobbed bed is cool. My buddy has a similar F250 and it turns a lot of heads.

Here is the deal, I have this Suburban crawler. I built it right, good parts, lots of work in it, but my heart has never really been in it. The old Hillman has been sitting & rotting for 10years. I need to get rid of a rig. Best thing I can figure is taking my Suburban crawler & the Hillman & making one rig out of the 2. Loose the Dana 44 & 9" & replace them with a Dana 60 & 14 bolt that are locked up. Also ditch the 6cyl for a small block Chevy backed by my T400 & 203/205 doubler. I'm thinking 42" Pitbull Rockers on my H1 double beads.

How well does it sit on the bronco frame? I have a 58 husky on a shortened blazer frame and dont like the way the previous owner secured the body to the frame.

Interior space is pretty good. I built my floor pans low & I have plenty of head room. Even considered chopping it. I'll have to see how I feel after I get a rear seat back in it. Scrapping the drive train swap. I'm sticking with the current setup. May fuel inject the 250 with a Holley Sniper EFI. Gotta get the Suburban sold for parts $$$!

I'd like to stretch the wheelbase a few inches. Are there some junkyard springs I can look for that are SOFT & will move my rear axle back some?

I’m a fan of the Chevy 63 springs. They are cheap and plentiful I’m running a homebuilt pac based off them and some random bds ranger springs
