My setup, but have a ways to go. This pic is from Sierra Trek last Summer. 08 Tacoma, 9000lb Warn Winch up front..having some rock sliders made soon but, it will be a mild build. The trailer is a 1970's or so Pack Mule trailer. It pulls easily behind my truck.

My previous one (sale pending) - '98 Frontier, D44, ARBs front and rear, 3.92:1 Calmini Crawlers, countless other mods:

(This was on our last AZ Run - might still find a link on Fourwheeler.com for this trip last fall)

Here's what I'm building. It's a '77 F150. Doesn't have bumpers yet but will have a swing away bronco bumper. 3 storage boxes in the bed, and will get built out further. Fresh 5" lift, 35s, Detroit rear, True Trac front, Upgraded axle shafts in both ends, NP435 trans behind a 351 with a 205 case.

Such a cool story. Sure couldn't built that in these times and expect to get it licensed or insured.

everyone build your rig the best you can and go out and use it. never mind the crap talkers in the world.
i will post up some pics when i finish the big truck.
Man I would LOVE to see a build on that lmtv! I'm looking to do damn near the same thing in the near future, either lmtv or mtv. There's really nowhere else you can get a 4x4 mdt with that parts list for 3x the money.

I used to do land surveying with my uncle. He had an awesome '87 Chevy Suburban 2500 4x4. Some of our deep woods projects would put us in the bush for a week at a time. We lived out of her and she served us well. Eventually, I went to work for another surveying company. They had an awesome fully loaded '89 Suburban 1500 4x4 black with lipstick red tweed interior. She was asked to do more than her fair share. Engine never gave up, 5.7(350). The load she carried killed her trans and rear axle, but not before she rolled over to 200,000 miles. We never went deep woods for weeks, but she blazed many trails in the bush like a boss. A friend had an early 80's 2500 Suburban with a factory top loader 4-speed 4x4. I never got to drive it but it was sweet. I have wanted an 87-89 Suburban for a while now but it's not practical for me to own one. It would sit around and collect rust and bird crap.

Currently, my expo vehicle is a 2014 Honda CB500X. Givi luggage racks with JC Whitney trunks for my luggage. They're NLA through JCW. I have Hepco Becker engine and tank crash bars, 118Bikes Honda/Givi windscreen from Thailand, Sato racing adjustable levers, Pu$$y Grips, Seat concepts standard seat kit, cheap chinesium off-road lights, PVC spacers in the forks, '99 Honda CBR600 F4 fully adjustable rear shock, Shinko 705 dual sport tires, voltmeter, handlebar mounted GPS/phone charging station, and an under seat accessory power fuse block.

One hell of a steep and rough road. It is way steeper than it looks. I plowed up it in 1st gear at about 15mph and bouncing around like a basketball.

A little smoother more level gravel.
